Lots of random thoughts:
Simon is now two months old. He is doing fairly well with sleep at night; he has slept through the night once, but usually wakes up to eat at least one time. He is a tummy sleeper with only a very short tolerance for sleeping on his back despite swaddling, rocking and the sound machine.
He can lift his head and look all around and is working on rolling over, but hasn't accomplished that task yet unassisted.
He doesn't particularly like bath time because he does not like being cold, but he makes enough messes that he doesn't get a choice in getting bathed.
He seems to be getting the same blue eyes as Eliza.
He doesn't go in for his first vaccines until December because of the scheduling at his pediatrician's office. I think he's about 13 pounds based on holding him on the scale with me, which would put him between the 50th and 75th weight-for-age percentile. He's definitely growing very well and is right on track to double his birth weight by 4 months.
He has started smiling "real" smiles (not just sleepy time smiles).
Compared with Eliza as a baby he has had fewer poop blowout diapers but way more pee out diapers even though I think I'm positioning everything in the right direction.
He still likes to keep his fists balled up and held by his chest. This is the same thing he was doing in his ultrasound pictures. He also likes to stick his tongue out repeatedly. It's super cute!
Simon is a really good baby in dealing with Eliza's maulings. He's pretty laid back and usually only cries when he wants to be held, fed or changed. Eliza will come in every morning to my room and look at baby Simon and say "oh mom, baby Simon is waking up (which means that he's awake, if he wasn't awake before she came in that quickly changes) he's so cute/beautiful". I am glad that she's so in love with him.
