The fact that I live in a relatively small town makes the fact that this parade even exists here pretty cool. The city did a pretty good job putting together some nice floats and bringing in some balloons. However, the small town feel didn't disappear completely. If you look at the Noah's Ark float below you'll see that unicorns were part of the animal collection. Most of the floats were themed after a book or a movie, but there were quite a few random apes, chickens and pigs thrown in just to add to the number of costumed characters. Also, this parade is always held in December and it's always cold but Tinkerbell still froze all the way down the street wearing her traditional getup (maybe she needs a winterized costume, just a suggestion). Anyway, Eliza loved the parade and getting to see all of the Disney princesses and Simon stayed warm in my parents' car parked right along the parade route.

I actually think that this monkey belonged to one of the floats, but I can't remember how he fit in.

Obviously not at the parade, but cute anyway. He loves to play with his tongue and blow bubbles now. He's also losing all of his hair. Eliza did the same thing and then it grew back blond.

You didn't know that there were unicorns on the Ark? Where have you been? ;) That parade has gotten much nicer than the last time I went to one. (Granted, that was over 10 yrs ago...)
