- This was the first year that Eliza seemed to understand the whole gift opening concept. Having her birthday a month before Christmas only helped to prime her desire to rip open wrapping paper.
- Christmas dinner-turkey breast, sauteed green beans, redskin mashed potatoes and gravy. We had homemade rice pudding with blueberries for dessert. Christmas Eve dinner-Rasmussen tradition of clam chowder with wheat rolls.
- Christmas cookies-Snickerdoodles, Brian's choice
- Eliza received a pair of sunglasses in her stocking which she has been trying to wear non-stop. If she's not wearing her own glasses, she tries to wear my glasses (and honestly, they look really cute on her, but I'm not so sure the prescription is helping her at all) so Santa did a really good job bringing her a pair of her own.
- Eliza also received two new baby dolls and they now have to go everywhere she goes. This means that we have to haul the babies and all of their accessories from room to room when we relocate through the house. The accesories include: a stroller, bassinet, high chair, bottle, spoon, bib, bowl, extra clothes and a pacifier.
Brian was working on setting up one of his gifts and Eliza wanted to help:
This is the face that Eliza gave when trying to convince us that she should be allowed to climb on the ladder. Cute, but no game. We made her get down. Day after Christmas-trees are both down and all decorations are put away. I love the decorations but I also love having them put away again at the end of the holiday.

We have the same Nativity Little People set--Alora loves it. The angel is low on batteries and kind of moans through the song. =)
I couldn't agree more about getting stuff put away. This is the first year we didn't get everything put away the day of or day after Christmas. I love putting it up, and then I LOVE how clean and organized the house looks after I put it away. It'll be gone before the weekend is over.
She's just going to keep growing up even though we're gone? Does she even miss us? It seems really weird to hear about stuff she's doing that we didn't already know about. We miss you guys! Glad you had a fun Christmas.
We have been doing nonstop remodeling since we got home, so we really didn't even put up any Christmas decor this year. Maybe next year...
what'd brian get that he was setting up?
so shes really into glasses huh? first the mr potato head ones, yours, the new shades... - i thought glasses were really cool when i was younger - was pretty excited when i finally got some real ones in the 4th grade - now i just seem em as a pain in the butt - oh well
Brian is working on a surround sound system. He got that in a Blueray combo pack. He was ready to set it up within about an hour of opening the package. Just long enough to eat and clean up some wrappings from other gifts and he was up the ladder.
