Eliza and I are home from church today thanks to some teething pain and a fever that I hope is attributed to the teething and not an oncoming ear infection. She's been miserable going around crying that her mouth hurts and she barely eats anything. We actually bought her a teething ring at Wal-Mart the other night to help with the pain - there aren't many 2 1/2 year olds who are still teething, especially not the teeth that she's working on. This week she's got a 2nd-year molar, the two bottom incisors and one of her top incisors working their way through. She's handling it fairly well thanks to motrin and tylenol, but I hope the fevers go away soon so she can go back to daycare and not miss her final week at school with her friends. Now on to the real topic...
Happy Father's Day!
We're happy to have Brian home for father's day this year. He was away last year and we had to just send an electronic message. Since he is home this year, he got to wear his new father's day tie to church that Eliza made at daycare. He also got to enjoy his morning milk in a new mug from Eliza. I made him some delicious whole wheat pear granola muffins to go along with his milk. For dinner tonight we're grilling burgers and hot dogs with some friends (depending on Eliza's condition) and then sharing our Bruster's ice cream cake. Brian also got a new picture frame from Eliza that she built at a Lowe's Build and Grow workshop last weekend with one of her friends.
Eliza really loves her daddy! Here are a few of her favorite daddy things: when he makes pancakes or waffles with strawberries and whipped cream (from a can, of course, with extra squirts in her mouth), when he shares his "spicy" drinks out at dinner (he's typically the only one who orders soda when we go out and Eliza gets a few sips, she calls it spicy since some of our friends call it the same thing), when he reads or talks with silly voices, when she gets to visit him at the organ when he's playing at church or when she gets to practice with him at home and sit with him on the piano bench, tickle time, when daddy lets her help in the kitchen and so many other things! Thanks Daddy!

Brian, you better cherish all those for life! ;) Or until she can write on the mug herself... Happy Father's Day!!!
The kids still call them "spicy" drinks, but that's not much of a deterrent anymore to Daniel who still asks if he can have a sip. We also now refer to them as "adult beverages" :)
