Quick Update

We're all doing really well, just super busy with moving.  So here's a quick update:

  • We have a place to live in Utah and Eliza and I will be flying out there this coming weekend with Brian following behind in one of our cars.  Brian will leave for work a couple of days after getting our car to Utah so Eliza and I will settle into our rental with help from my family.  We hired a moving company to take care of our packing, loading and moving so we're just busy with cleaning, getting rid of stuff (which I love, it's so nice to get rid of junk!) and fitting in time with friends before leaving.
  • I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going by!  We're down to 2 months before the due date! Everything is still going well.  I found a new practitioner in Utah and will meet with her as soon as we arrive.
  • Brian will be home for the majority of September so he will be around for the birth of the baby and some time afterwards.  It's going to be a little bit crazy but everything will work out just fine.
  • So far Eliza thinks she is getting a baby sister, but one lady stopped me in Baltimore to let me know that this is definitely a boy.  We'll see...
  • Eliza had a minor surgery a few weeks ago to put in ear tubes and to remove her adenoids.  She did very well and was back to her normal self by the afternoon of the procedure.  We chose to do the surgery after many ear infections, but mainly due to teething and breathing issues.  She has always been a mouth breather which hasn't bothered us but we started to notice that she was skipping breaths at night and would hold her breath in the daytime followed by gulping in air.  The ENT explained to us that her mouth breathing could also have affected her delayed teething as she always had her mouth open and wasn't shutting her mouth and stimulating her gums which could have promoted teething.  She now breathes much better.  We'll see if her ear infection rate improves.  It's too late really to see how her teeth will be affected since it's so late, and she has the majority of her teeth now anyway.
  • She has two more teeth cutting through (probably not related to the surgery, just coincidence) including her  missing bicuspid (finally!) and another 2nd year  molar.  Once she gets her final incisor she'll have a full smile of teeth across the front and will only be missing her top 2nd year molars.
  • We sold our piano since it would have just sat unused for the next 14 months and we didn't want to pay to move it.  Brian was pretty sad to see it go since he played the piano at least twice a week.
That's all for now.  Our next post likely won't be until we're settled in Utah.  So until then...

Dang! We would have bought your piano. We are looking for one right now, so maybe you can just tell us how you liked yours and how much you paid for it.

Oh, and we CAN'T WAIT to see you!! Hope all goes well with everything!
