Eliza's birthday is on Thanksgiving this year so we chose to do her party today. Between friends and family, she had quite the group of guests. She wanted a "princess party at the bounce house" and that's what she got. We had pizza and cupcakes and then let the kids play. We ended up not opening gifts at the party because we ran over time in the party room, but I think that worked out better since a lot of the guests kept trying to take their gifts back. I guess that's what happens with young children. It was a fun day, but we definitely missed having daddy there. It's a lot of work to pull off a party! Thankfully, my parents and brother helped out a lot.

Eating Time
I didn't pose the candle shot very well so you get to see me instead of Eliza. It was tricky getting the candles away from other helpful blowers at the table. :)
She got a new crown and a wand for her party. She calls the wand her "spelling wander" after Princess Pea on Super Why. I'm not sure why it's a wander and not a wand.

| Opening presents at my parent's house after dinner. Here she is feeding her "fur real" penguin. She even burps the penguin when she's done feeding it. She likes to hold it like a baby which means that its wings get held down against their will while she sticks the little bottle in its mouth. She loves this toy and is actually sleeping with it tonight. |
Simon's participation in the whole event went something like this:

Happy birthday Eliza! Awesome that you didn't open presents at the party--that's my least favorite part of any party (opening them myself or watching them get opened. Awkward and loooong). =)
id have liked pizza and cupcakes and then to do what simon was doing :)
